Adding clients
Go to Clients → Add Client, or Settings → Connections → Add Client.
You’ll be taken to the Xero authorisation screen. Approve access, and WatsonOS will immediately ask you to confirm the client’s PAYG Withholding method (none, monthly, or quarterly). Xero doesn’t expose this setting in their API, so WatsonOS asks you to set it manually for each client. GST method and all other information is pulled from Xero automatically.
The initial sync
Section titled “The initial sync”When you add a new client for the first time, WatsonOS performs an initial sync — pulling the entire history of their Xero file, journal by journal. This is a one-time process. Depending on the transaction volume of the file, it can take some time. The system displays sync status in the client list and the client centre.
Until the initial sync has completed, no BAS or IAS can be run. The data is incomplete until the sync has finished.
Ongoing syncs
Section titled “Ongoing syncs”Each night, WatsonOS syncs all files automatically, picking up incremental changes since the previous sync. This happens overnight and takes a few minutes per file.
If you make a change in Xero and want it reflected in WatsonOS immediately, you can manually sync at any time from the client centre.
