Running a BAS

Open the BAS workbench from the Jobs list or your dashboard. Click Run.

WatsonOS will begin performing all calculations, reconciliations, QA checks, and sampling. The job state moves to Preparing automatically. Once the engine finishes, the job moves to Prepared and the running banner disappears.

The BAS workspace has the following tabs:

  • Summary — dynamic view of what needs doing, tailored to your role
  • Financials — P&L and balance sheet for the period
  • Reconciliation — GST, Wages/PAYGW, and PAYG Instalments
  • QA Checklist — structured compliance checks
  • Samples — ABR-verified transaction samples
  • Queries — client and internal queries
  • Flags — internal team notes
  • Workpapers — the complete audit-ready workpaper pack

Each tab is covered in detail in the following pages.

If you update something in Xero and need to refresh the BAS, click Re-sync in the BAS workspace. Once the sync completes (usually 3–5 minutes), click Re-Run. The engine updates all calculations and re-runs QA checks.
